The Replate

Introduction

Replates are a new way to experience replays of sporting events. We use a soccer example to describe the basic idea and features of replates. Multiple instances of key players and the ball can be seen at different stages of the play. The looping animation continuously shows the entire run of the scoring player. Matching colored markers (▽) help connect the passing player with the instance of the scoring player that receives the pass. A dotted line annotates the path of the scoring player. Additional players that were involved in the play are also included.
